Position: Tennis Summer Camp Counselor
Location: Washington Tennis & Education Foundation (WTEF) West Campus
Camp Dates: June 16 – August 15, 2025
Camp Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:15 PM (No Camp: July 4th)

Through tennis instruction and life skills development, WTEF empowers young people to achieve their highest potential during after-school and summer camp hours.
Position Overview
WTEF is seeking enthusiastic, dedicated, and responsible individuals for the Summer Camp Counselor position. This position is ideal for high school and college-aged students, as well as alumni of WTEF who have a passion for working with youth and an interest in teaching tennis. In this role, you will help foster a positive and supportive environment for children, ensuring they receive impactful tennis lessons and experiences.
Position Summary
The Summer Camp Counselor will provide assistance and support to the Camp Director and Coaches and will work directly with youth participants, providing tennis coaching and leading tennis-related activities. Counselors will motivate, manage, and engage with children in a fun, safe, and educational setting. This role also includes supporting tennis programming and activities. Coaching experience is not required, but applicants should have 4+ years of playing experience.

Requirements
- Must be 16 years old or older
- Previous camp experience preferred but not required
- Must be available all nine weeks of camp (June 16 to August 15, 2025) or available for a session (June 16 to June 27, 2025 OR June 30 to August 15, 2025)
- Possess leadership skills and responsible decision-making
- Act as a positive role model to campers and counselors while representing the Washington Tennis and Education Foundation
- First Aid, CPR, and AED-certified training will be provided by WTEF prior to camp
Physical Demands
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift for the majority of the workday. May be required to lift up to 35 pounds.
- If selected to work at Performance Camp, must be able to demonstrate fitness activities and serve as a hitting partner for players.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise camp participants, maintaining a safe and conducive learning environment.
- Develop and execute weekly tennis-related plans.
- Facilitate engaging and interactive tennis activities to foster skill development.
- Assist with camp operations, including supervising children during meals and coordinating field trips.
- Serve as a role model, providing one-on-one support to students as needed.
- Support summer camp enrichment programming and activities as needed.
