Compensation: Starts at $28/hr
Position Summary
WTEF is looking for energetic coaches/teachers to join our team! The ideal candidates will have a passion for teaching tennis for all ages, and particularly elementary-aged children within grades 1 through 5. The main hours of work would be weekdays during a school year, Mondays through Thursdays either 3:30-5:30 pm or 4-6 pm.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Create a fun and energetic environment where all children have multiple opportunities to participate and are encouraged to play, learn and have fun.
- Implement warm-up exercises, practice drills, and match play.
- Teach the rules and regulations of tennis as well as good sportsmanship.
- Ensure the safety of their students when related to exercising and playing tennis.
- Oversee/manage any tennis competitions that occur on the court of their designated school or offsite at WTEF East Capitol’s Campus.
- Distribute certificates of achievement, trophies, and other year-end incentives.
- Attend trainings as needed.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High Diploma or G.E.D.
- US PTR or PTA Certified preferred.
- Previous experience working with children or caring for children preferred.
- Current First Aid & CPR Certification preferred.
- Must pass background screenings, which include fingerprint check and sex offender registry check.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (strength and stamina) to participate in games, sports, and physical activities including jogging, crouching, water-based games and activities.
