Job Title: AACP Tennis Coach
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Compensation: Starts at $28/hr

Position Summary
WTEF is looking for energetic coaches/teachers to join our team! The ideal candidates will have a passion for teaching tennis for all ages, and particularly elementary-aged children within grades 1 through 5. The main hours of work would be weekdays during a school year, Mondays through Thursdays either 3:30-5:30 pm or 4-6 pm.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create a fun and energetic environment where all children have multiple opportunities to participate and are encouraged to play, learn and have fun.
  • Implement warm-up exercises, practice drills, and match play.
  • Teach the rules and regulations of tennis as well as good sportsmanship.
  • Ensure the safety of their students when related to exercising and playing tennis.
  • Oversee/manage any tennis competitions that occur on the court of their designated school or offsite at WTEF East Capitol’s Campus.
  • Distribute certificates of achievement, trophies, and other year-end incentives.
  • Attend trainings as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High Diploma or G.E.D.
  • US PTR or PTA Certified preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children or caring for children preferred.
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certification preferred.
  • Must pass background screenings, which include fingerprint check and sex offender registry check.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (strength and stamina) to participate in games, sports, and physical activities including jogging, crouching, water-based games and activities.
