Washington Tennis & Education Foundation (WTEF) provides tennis and education programs to children and youth from some of the city’s toughest neighborhoods in Wards 5, 6, 7, and 8 in the critical out of school time hours; after-school, weekends, and throughout the Summer.
Arthur Ashe Children’s Program
WTEF enhances the health, safety and academic performance of 325 elementary and middle school students every school year.
Center for Excellence
Our most intensive program, the Center for Excellence (CFE) is designed to help children and youth prepare to achieve self-sufficiency as young adults.
Our program serves young children age 2-4 from 16 nearby nursery and pre-schools.
WTEF enhances the health, safety and academic performance of 150 elementary and middle school students every school year.
WTEF provides fee-based tennis clinics and camps at our Northwest Campus. Scholarships are available for those in need and military families.
WTEF is determined to be a positive force in the community, particularly in Ward 7, where our East Capitol Campus is located.
The Summer Program serves 150 children and youth for eight weeks. Participants get fit, learn and play tennis and chess, read and work on math problems for eight hours every weekday.
We also provide Tennis Clinics for a fee to children and youth at our Northwest Campus, which is located in Rock Creek Park near the intersection of 16th and Kennedy Streets. Scholarships are available and children of active duty military families play for free.
On weekday mornings during the school year, young children (aged two to four) come to our East Capitol Campus from 18 nearby child development centers and learn the basics of the game through our Tennis Tots Program.
A variety of Community Programs, such as free tennis lessons, benefit residents of Ward 7, where the East Capitol Campus is located.
