WTEF’s East Capitol Campus is a state-of-the-art tennis, education and community center. Built in 2014, the Campus includes nine outdoor tennis courts and a building with six indoor courts, three classrooms, a community room, several flexible gathering spaces, a 40 station computer lab recently updated with all new equipment, and staff offices.
The East Capitol Campus is located in DC’s Ward 7, a relatively low-income and high-crime area, where afterschool services for children and community centers are very scarce. It is the home of our:
- Center for Excellence, an intensive education and tennis afterschool program for children and youth ages six to 18;
- Tennis Tots, which teacher very young children (ages two to four) tennis basics while developing their motor skills and capacity to listen and follow instructions;
- Various Community Programs, that connect people in the Ward 7 community to one another and help adults and seniors learn tennis and keep fit.
All of the services offered at the East Capitol Campus are free of charge for the participants.
