Citi Open

July 29th-August 6th

Congratulations to the 2017 Citi Open Champions: Alexander Zverev and Ekaterina Makarova!

WTEF is the owner and charitable beneficiary of the Citi Open Tennis Tournament, held annually in Rock Creek Park Tennis Center, where our Northwest Campus is located.

Featuring many top 10 players from around the world, The Citi Open is an important tune-up tournament for the U.S. Open. In fact, the men’s winner of our tournament is automatically seeded for the U.S. Open. The last two men’s champions were the exciting Gael Monfils (2016) and Kei Nishikori (2015).

The 2017 tournament will be held from July 29 to August 6 and bring some 70,000 fans to view world class tennis over the course of the nine day event. Check out our Photo Gallery (courtesy of TJMedia) from this year’s event, and visit to learn more!

The last two men’s champions were the exciting Gael Monfils (2016) and Kei Nishikori (2015). The last two women’s champions were Yanina Wickmayer (2016) and Sloane Stephens (2015).

The tournament provides a special opportunity for our youth, many of whom compete at the regional and national levels, to interact with top players. For instance, in 2015, eventual women’s champion Sloane Stephens and men’s star Stevie Johnson participated in an informal conversation with our kids about life on the tour, followed by a tennis clinic.

Sponsors of the Tennis Ball also enjoy special invitations to join WTEF Board members and guests at the tournament in our air-conditioned suites surrounding the stadium court.

There are only 20 player slots available for the Pro Am, each for a donation of $1,000 to WTEF.

Join the excitement of the Citi Open in 2017 in an exciting new way! Play in the Pro Am!
